Police arrested two 14-year-old girls after another teenager was stabbed and suffered a serious arm injury in Harvard, officials said.

The Harvard Police Department responded around 10:03 a.m. on February 16 to the 800 block of West Thompson Street in Harvard.

Harvard Deputy Police Chief Tyson Bauman said police received a call for a report of a person who was stabbed.

Officers arrived and found a 17-year-old girl, who is a Harvard resident, with a severe laceration to her left forearm.

Paramedics with the Harvard Fire Protection District transported the teen to Mercy Hospital in Harvard.

She was treated and later released to a parent, Bauman said.

Bauman said the stabbing was the result of a disagreement over a vape.

The suspects involved, identified as two 14-year-old girls from Harvard, had fled the scene.

Officers arrested them approximately 30 minutes after the incident, Bauman said.
