Police are investigating after a man was found dead and a second person was injured at a Round Lake Beach home Monday afternoon.

The Round Lake Beach Police Department responded around 3 p.m. to the 2000 block of Apache Trail in Round Lake Beach for a report of a stabbing.

Officers arrived and found a man with multiple lacerations, according to Lake County Major Crime Task Force Spokeswoman Heather Cognac.

The man told officers the offender was inside the residence.

Officers entered the residence and located several other people who told officers the offender was in the garage.

Officers entered the garage and found a man deceased with multiple stab wounds, Cognac said.

The Round Lake Beach Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to assist in the investigation.

Investigators believe this is an isolated domestic incident and there is no threat to the community, Cognac said.

The first man who was stabbed was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
