Clinton Allen, 33, of Union.

A warrant has been issued for a McHenry County man, who was out on bond for sexually assaulting a young child and possessing child pornography, after he failed to appear for court.

Clinton J. Allen, 33, of the 9900 block of Forest Lane in Union, was initially charged in December 2020 with five counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and three counts of unlawful possession of child pornography.

A grand jury later indicted Allen on 13 additional counts of unlawful possession of child pornography.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement in December 2020 that they received a report from a concerned citizen.

An investigation was initiated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division which revealed that Allen had sexually assaulted a child in his care.

Court records show the assault happened in June 2013 and the victim was under the age of 13.

Allen was arrested in December 2020 and transported to the McHenry County Jail.

A McHenry County judge ordered him held on a $250,000 bond. He was released from jail a short time later after posting $25,000 cash.

As part of his bond conditions, Allen was ordered to be on electronic monitoring upon his release from the jail.

Earlier this month, Allen failed to appear in court on March 11 for a motion hearing in his case, which has not gone to trial yet.

McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge ordered that Allen’s bond be forfeited and an arrest warrant was issued.

A judgement on bond forfeiture hearing is scheduled for April 22.
