The coroner’s office has identified a 76-year-old Wisconsin woman who died after a crash involving two trucks and a car on Interstate 94 in Deerfield Thursday.

Janice Bosco, 76, of Burlington, Wisconsin, died as a result of blunt force injuries from a vehicle crash, according to Lake County Chief Deputy Coroner Steve Newton.

The Illinois State Police, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District and Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District responded around 2:05 p.m. Thursday to Interstate 94 at mile marker 24.

The crash involved three vehicles in the westbound lanes of Interstate 94 north of Deerfield Road, according to the Illinois State Police.

The crash involved a Chevrolet Malibu, a semi-tractor-trailer truck and a second truck, the coroner’s office said.

District 15 troopers found a victim, later identified as Bosco, with life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics transported the woman to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office said Bosco was pronounced dead while being transported to the hospital.

Troopers and Illinois Tollway HELP Trucks shut down the left two lanes of Interstate 94 westbound as emergency crews responded to the scene.

No one else involved in the crash was injured.

The lanes remained closed for several hours Thursday afternoon as state police investigated the incident.

The coroner’s office said an autopsy was performed Friday on Bosco. Toxicology results are pending.

The Illinois State Police has not said how the crash occurred or who was at fault.
