Police say they are trying to identify a suspect who was warded off by an alarm and video surveillance system as they entered a home in Barrington Hills Monday morning.
The Barrington Hills Police Department responded around 2:52 a.m. Monday to the 500 block of Oak Knoll Road for a burglar alarm.
Police said that an unknown subject attempted to gain access to the residence through an unlocked door.
The suspect was warded off by a burglar alarm system and video surveillance system, police said.
A surveillance photo of the suspect was released.
Police said residents should check their video surveillance systems for any suspicious persons or activity around their homes.
“As always, please remember to lock all doors and windows when not at home, and at night, and always utilize your burglar alarm system,” Barrington Hills police said.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has evidence to assist in the investigation should contact the Barrington Hills Police Department’s Investigations Division at 847-551-3006.
