The coroner has identified a 77-year-old Lake Forest man who died after he was hit by a car on Route 41 in North Chicago Sunday evening.

The North Chicago Fire Department and North Chicago Police Department responded around 10:38 p.m. Sunday to Route 41 and Route 137 for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.

Lake County Chief Deputy Coroner Steve Newton said the incident involved a vehicle that struck a pedestrian.

Officers arrived to locate a male subject in the roadway with fatal injuries.

The victim was identified as Richard Bradley, 77, of Lake Forest.

Paramedics pronounced Bradley dead at the scene, Newton said.

Due to the severity of the crash, the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT), which consists of area police departments, was called to the scene to conduct an investigation.

An autopsy confirmed Bradley died from multiple blunt force injuries as a result of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lake County Coroner’s Office, MCAT and the North Chicago Police Department.
