Sheriff’s detectives are investigating after a residence and vehicle were struck multiple times by gunfire in Beach Park, officials said.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded around 10:04 p.m. last Wednesday to the 11900 block of West 29th Street in Beach Park for a report of shots fired.
The Village of Beach Park said in a statement that a residence was hit multiple times by gunfire.
The front door of the residence and two front windows of the home were also hit by the gunfire.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene but were unable to locate any offenders.
No one inside the residence was injured or struck by gunfire, the village said.
A preliminary investigation shows it was a targeted shooting and isolated “in the sense that it was not random,” the village said.
No further information on any suspects or suspect vehicles was available to be released, village officials said.
The investigation remains ongoing by Lake County sheriff’s detectives.
