One person was transported to the hospital after a truck and car collided and the truck rolled over into a building Saturday morning in Waukegan.

The Waukegan Police Department and Waukegan Fire Department responded around 11:15 a.m. Saturday to the area of Belvidere Street and Fulton Avenue for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.

Waukegan Deputy Police Chief Joe Florip said the incident involved a 2005 Audi and a 2005 Chevrolet van.

The two vehicles were both traveling westbound on Belvidere Street when one of the vehicles attempted a lane change, hitting the other vehicle, Florip said.

The Chevrolet van rolled over onto its side and into the Ostioneria Briza Azul restaurant, 1611 Belvidere Street.

The front entrance of the restaurant sustained damage. The Waukegan Building Department was requested to the scene.

Florip said the driver of the Audi was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. They have since been treated and released.
