A Marengo man is facing nearly a dozen charges for sexually assaulting a child family member on multiple occasions in McHenry County over the span of several years.
David W. Flynn, 54, a transient of Marengo, was recently charged in three separate cases filed in McHenry County Circuit Court.
Flynn was charged on March 25 with three counts of criminal sexual assault of a child, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child and one count of sexual relations within families.
In a second case, Flynn was charged three days later with one count of sexual relations within families.
In the third case, Flynn was charged on April 8 with three counts of criminal sexual assault of a child.
Warrants were issued for his arrest and he was taken into custody on Tuesday, jail records show.
A criminal complaint filed by a Marengo police detective alleges Flynn sexually assaulted a family member, who was under the age of 18, multiple times between October 2015 and May 2019.
Another assault occurred in January of this year, the complaint said.
A second criminal complaint filed by a Fox River Grove police officer alleges Flynn illegally engaged in sexual relations with a family member of his between September 2021 and January 2022.
A third criminal complaint filed by a McHenry County sheriff’s detective alleges Flynn sexually assaulted a family member, who was under the age of 18, between April 2020 and August 2020. It is unknown if it was the same victim as the Marengo case.
Flynn remains held in the McHenry County Jail on a $300,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on May 13.
