Police arrested a Gurnee man after he allegedly pointed a gun at another person in the parking lot of a bar in Libertyville, officials said.
Logan Vondruska, 26, of the 4400 block of Eastwood Avenue in Gurnee, was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Libertyville Police Department responded at 2:56 a.m. April 30 to Island Tap, 112 East Cook Avenue, for a report of a man with a gun.
While responding to the scene, a man flagged down an officer and pointed to a white vehicle and stated that the driver of that vehicle had a gun.
Libertyville Deputy Police Chief Ed Sindles said Libertyville police officers, in addition to officers from surrounding agencies, located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of South Milwaukee Avenue.
A further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Vondruska, possessed a loaded firearm in the vehicle, Sindles said.
Sindles said that Vondruska pointed the handgun at the victim while in the parking lot of the Island Tap.
Police did not say what led to the confrontation.
Vondruska was placed under arrest and transported to the Libertyville Police Department where he was processed and charged.
Vondruska was released from custody after signing a $2,500 personal recognizance bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on June 2.
