A portion of Grass Lake Road near Antioch will be closed for over a week starting Monday as crews repair a railroad crossing, county officials said.
The Lake County Division of Transportation said they were notified by the Canadian National Railroad about the closure of the railroad crossing on Grass Lake Road just east of Route 83 on the border of Lake Villa and Antioch.
The nine-day closure will begin Monday and conclude on or before 7 a.m. on May 25.
The reopening is weather permitting and county officials said the closure is due to unspecified repairs.
The detour route will be Route 83 to Route 173 to Deep Lake Road.
Local traffic will be allowed from Deep Lake Road west to the railroad crossing.
The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic, the county transportation division said.
