A Woodstock man was arrested after he allegedly cut another person multiple times with a large kitchen knife in Woodstock on Saturday, police said.
Wayne S. Dobbins, 54, of the 800 block of Prairie View Lane in Woodstock, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, a Class 3 felony.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said Dobbins used a large kitchen carving knife to cut a male victim on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the kitchen of Dobbins’ apartment and the complaint said Dobbins cut the victim on his chest and leg with the knife.
Woodstock Deputy Police Chief Ray Lanz said the victim sustained several minor lacerations.
The victim refused any medical assistance and did not require transport to a hospital.
Dobbins and the victim are roommates. Lanz said that the incident began over a dispute regarding financial issues.
Officers with the Woodstock Police Department arrested Dobbins around 11 a.m. Saturday and transported him to the McHenry County Jail.
Dobbins remains held in the jail on a $25,000 bond. He would need to post $2,500 cash in order to be released.
McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge denied Dobbins’ request for a bond reduction on Wednesday.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 3.
