A 49-year-old man was charged after he rolled his car over near Hebron and had to be flown by medical helicopter to the hospital Thursday evening.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District responded around 8 p.m. Thursday to the 14100 block of Nichols Road in unincorporated Hebron.
McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Communications Specialist Emily Matusek said deputies received a call for a rollover crash.
A vehicle was traveling westbound on Nichols Road northwest of Hillside Road.
The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old Harvard man, failed to navigate a curve in the roadway, Matusek said.
The man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
He was flown by a Mercyhealth REACT medical helicopter to Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside in Rockford.
The driver was the sole occupant of the car and no other vehicles were involved.
Matusek said that the man was charged with improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
