The Lake Zurich Police Department and Lake Zurich Fire Department responded around 2:30 p.m. Monday to Route 12 and Clover Hill Lane in Lake Zurich for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.
Lake Zurich Fire Chief David Pilgard said three SUVs were involved in the crash.
Between the three vehicles, 12 people were involved.
Firefighters had to extricate one victim who was trapped in one of the wrecked vehicles, Pilgard said.
A total of six ambulances were called to the scene.
The Palatine Rural, Palatine, Countryside, Wauconda and City of Barrington fire departments responded to assist the Lake Zurich Fire Department at the scene.
