One person was transported to the hospital by ambulance after an SUV crashed into a school building in Mundelein on Tuesday, fire officials said.
The Mundelein Fire Department and Mundelein Police Department responded around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday to Lincoln Early Learning Center, 200 West Maple Avenue.
Mundelein fire officials said crews received a report of a car into a building.
A Toyota 4Runner SUV left the roadway and struck a corner of the school building.
The vehicle came to a rest next to the building in the bushes.
There were no students, staff or visitors in the specific part of the building where the crash happened, fire officials said.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
They were transported by ambulance to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for further evaluation.
The extent of damage to the building was minor, fire officials said.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known and it is unknown if the driver was cited.
