Blake R. Austin, 19, of Crystal Lake.

A Crystal Lake man is facing multiple felony charges after police found him in possession of child pornography with the intent to disseminate it, court documents allege.

Blake R. Austin, 19, of the 900 block of Camelot Drive in Crystal Lake, was charged with two counts of reproduction of child pornography, a Class X felony, and four counts of possession of child pornography, Class 2 and 3 felonies.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges that investigators with the Crystal Lake Police Department found Austin in possession of at least five videos and one image.

The material showed various girls, who all appeared to be under the age of 18, engaging in an act of sexual conduct, the complaint said.

Several of the videos and the image involved children that appeared to be younger than 13, the complaint said.

With two of the videos Austin possessed, he had “the intent to disseminate” them, the complaint added.

The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charges against Austin and a McHenry County judge signed off on an arrest warrant on June 7, court records show.

Police arrested Austin on the warrant and he was later released after posting 10% of his $100,000 bond.

The most serious charges against Austin are Class X felonies, which carry between 6-30 years in prison if convicted.

Austin is scheduled to appear in court again on June 29 to schedule a preliminary hearing.
