Due to the injuries, the child needed to go to a level 1 trauma center and a LifeNet medical helicopter was requested.

The ambulance transported the child to the landing zone behind Wonder Lake Fire Protection District Station 1 located at 4300 East Wonder Lake Road, Weber said.

The child was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment.

Their condition was not available, but it was serious enough to warrant a LifeNet response, Weber added.
