A 21-year-old Elgin man is facing 25 felony charges after McHenry County and Kane County police seized a slew of drugs and firearms from his home last week.
Andreas Rendas, 21, of Elgin, was charged with two counts of manufacture or deliver of a controlled substance, a Class X felony; seven counts of manufacture or deliver of a controlled substance, a Class 2 felony; three counts of manufacture or deliver of a controlled substance, a Class 3 felony; two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 1 felony; one count of unlawful possession of cannabis, a Class 3 felony; and 10 counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony.
On July 1, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force and the Kane County Sheriff’s Special Operations Group conducted a joint operation involving illegal drugs being purchased on social media.
Investigators purchased illegal drugs from Rendas and executed a search warrant at his residence, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Rendas, who was on probation, was arrested and charged. He was transported to the Kane County Jail.

- 37 hydrocodone pills
- 5 carisoprodol pills
- 34 grams of psilocybin
- 1,209 alprazolam pills
- 10 Concerta pills
- 40 escitalopram oxalate pills
- 32 bullets
- 3 pistols
- 1 stolen revolver
- 1 money counter machine
- Drug packaging materials
- Around $11,000
Rendas did not have a FOID (Firearm Owners Identification) card, the sheriff’s office said.
