Mitchel High, 53, of Lake in the Hills

A 53-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly hit a police officer and paramedic and threatened to hit another paramedic in Lake in the Hills last week.

Mitchel High, 53, of the 1100 block of Heartland Gate in Lake in the Hills, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of domestic battery and one count of aggravated assault.

On July 1, High allegedly kicked a household member in the face, causing redness along the left side of the victim’s face and forearm, a criminal complaint said.

He allegedly hit a Lake in the Hills police officer in the face with his hand and hit an Algonquin-Lake in the Hills firefighter/paramedic in the left arm.

High also “knowingly flicked the arms and made threats of punching and kicking” another firefighter/paramedic, causing the paramedic to believe he would be battered, the complaint added.

As a condition of his bond, High was ordered to surrender all his firearms.

High is scheduled to appear in court on July 19 for a preliminary hearing.
