Police are asking neighborhood residents to review their security camera footage as they continue to search for the suspect who shot two men in Huntley.

The Huntley Police Department responded around 4:18 a.m. Monday to the 11800 block of Cape Cod Lane in Huntley for a report of shots fired.

The Huntley Fire Protection District was also sent to the scene after a report of two people shot.

Officers secured the scene and confirmed the offender had left prior to their arrival, Deputy Police Chief Linda Hooten said.

Officers provided medical aid to two adult male victims who were later transported by ambulance to area hospitals.

Their conditions were not known.

A preliminary investigation showed the offender drove to the house and approached the front door when gunfire ensued, Hooten said.

The offender fled the scene in a white four-door sedan.

The offender is described as a male Hispanic, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 in height, with short hair and a stocky build.

The Huntley Police Department said Monday afternoon that residents in the Wing Pointe subdivision should review their doorbell and security cameras from the early morning hours for any footage that could assist in the investigation.

It does not appear to be a random incident and “is specific to this location,” Hooten said.

No one is in custody yet and the McHenry County Major Investigative Assistance Team was called to the scene.
