State officials say a $1 million winning lottery ticket was sold at a Huntley gas station as the Mega Millions jackpot has reached over $1 billion.

While the jackpot rolled in Tuesday evening’s Mega Millions drawing, an Illinois Lottery player woke up Wednesday morning as a millionaire after matching all five numbers.

The $1 million winning ticket was bought at the Mobil gas station at 11200 Route 47 in Huntley.

The Illinois Lottery said they encourage all winners to write their name on the back of their ticket and make an appointment at a claim center to claim their prize.

The Mega Millions jackpot is now $1.025 billion for the next drawing Friday night.

No one has matched the game’s six numbers since April.

Only three jackpots over $1 billion have ever been won in the United States.
