A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car near Marengo Saturday evening, officials said.

The Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:15 p.m. Saturday to Route 176 and Franklinville Road in unincorporated Marengo.

Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts Communications Specialist Alex Vucha said crews received a report of a two-vehicle collision with injuries.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived to find a BMW sedan and a motorcycle involved.

The incident appeared to be a head-on crash between the two vehicles.

A medical helicopter was initially requested to the scene, however, it was later canceled, Vucha said.

The male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, Vucha said.

Two people who were in the BMW were evaluated and transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley.
