A police officer and two others were hospitalized after a squad car responding to a call was involved in a crash with another vehicle in Zion, officials said.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Ari Briskman told Lake and McHenry County Scanner the incident happened around 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

A Zion police officer was traveling southbound on Horeb Avenue in a marked squad car.

The squad had its emergency lights and siren activated.
