Police say a man shot another man in the face with an airsoft gun and then pointed the weapon at a woman during an altercation near Spring Grove.
David T. Gritzuk, 45, of the 7600 block of Arlington Drive in Spring Grove, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing bodily harm and battery making physical contact.
McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Byrnes told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that deputies responded around 8:50 p.m. last Tuesday to the 7600 block of Arlington Drive in unincorporated Spring Grove.
Deputies learned that Gritzuk provoked a verbal altercation with a male victim, who was parked in Gritzuk’s driveway, Byrnes said.
The victim was picking up a woman from the residence.
During the altercation, Gritzuk used an airsoft gun to shoot the male victim in the face, Byrnes said.
He also pointed it at the female passenger inside of the vehicle, Byrnes added.
The male victim was not seriously injured and refused medical treatment.
Gritzuk was arrested at the scene by deputies and transported to the McHenry County Jail.
Gritzuk was released after posting 10% of a $1,000 bond, court records show.
A plea hearing is scheduled for August 18.
