Police arrested a 19-year-old man inside a residence in Lake in the Hills after he allegedly stabbed a woman, leaving her hospitalized Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The Lake in the Hills Police Department and Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded around 12:30 p.m. Saturday to the 600 block of Lorree Lane for a call of a stabbing.
According to emergency radio traffic, the suspect called 911 and told dispatchers he stabbed his mother with a knife.
Officers located a female victim and requested medical assistance, Lake in the Hills Police Department Communications Coordinator Rachael Ruiz said.
The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District arrived, assessed and transported the woman to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley for further treatment.
Her condition was not immediately known.
Officers were told that the suspect, Anthony J. Bielecki, had retreated into the residence where he had been staying with the victim.
Ruiz said officers secured the exterior of the residence and were able to make contact with Bielecki, 19, of the 700 block of North Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights.
Bielecki was still inside and police ordered him to exit the residence. He complied and surrendered without further incident.
Bielecki was taken into custody and transported to the McHenry County Jail, Ruiz said.
The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a Class 3 felony, and aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony.
Bielecki remains held in the jail awaiting a bond hearing.
