A judge has ordered a 19-year-old man held on a $500,000 bond after he was arrested for allegedly stabbing his mother in the back, leaving her with a serious injury, in Lake in the Hills.
The Lake in the Hills Police Department and Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded around 12:30 p.m. Saturday to the 600 block of Lorree Lane for a call of a stabbing.
The suspect reportedly called 911 and told dispatchers he stabbed his mother with a knife, according to emergency radio traffic.
Officers located a female victim and requested medical assistance, Lake in the Hills Police Department Communications Coordinator Rachael Ruiz said.
The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District arrived, assessed and transported the woman to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley for further treatment.
Officers were told that the suspect, Anthony J. Bielecki, had retreated into the residence where he had been staying with the victim.
Ruiz said officers secured the exterior of the residence and were able to make contact with Bielecki, 19, of the 700 block of North Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights.
Bielecki was still inside and police ordered him to exit the residence. He complied and surrendered without further incident.
Bielecki was taken into custody and transported to the McHenry County Jail, Ruiz said.
The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a Class 3 felony, and aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony.
McHenry County Judge Tiffany Davis ordered Bielecki held on a $500,000 bond during a Monday morning bond hearing.
A criminal complaint said the victim is Bielecki’s mother and that she had been stabbed in the right upper back area with a knife.
The woman suffered “great bodily harm” and sustained a collapsed right lung, the complaint said. Her condition was not released.
Bielecki remains held in the jail and would need to post $50,000 cash in order to be released.
