A man was transported in critical condition after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed off the roadway in Lake Villa, police said.
The Lake Villa Police Department and Lake Villa Fire Protection District responded around 11:28 p.m. Monday to the 600 block of West Monaville Road in Lake Villa for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Responders located a crash involving a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The driver was located and was unconscious. He appeared to have a serious head injury, police said.
Officers checked the area and no other occupants were located.
No other vehicles were identified as being involved, police said.
A preliminary investigation showed the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Monaville Road.
For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the motorcycle and left the roadway.
The driver was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition. His current status is unknown, police said.
The man’s name is not being released pending family notification. There was no evidence of helmet use, police added.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was notified and responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lake Villa Police Department and MCAT.
