Authorities say a 48-year-old man from Round Lake has died in the hospital after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed in Lake Villa on Monday.

Adam Tesch, 48, of Round Lake, died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries from a vehicle crash, according to Lake County Chief Deputy Coroner Steve Newton.

The Lake Villa Police Department and Lake Villa Fire Protection District responded around 11:28 p.m. Monday to the 600 block of West Monaville Road in Lake Villa for a vehicle crash with injuries.

Responders located a crash involving a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Tesch, who was the driver, was located unconscious. He appeared to have a serious head injury, police said.

Officers checked the area and no other occupants were located.

No other vehicles were identified as being involved, police said.

A preliminary investigation showed Tesch was driving the motorcycle eastbound on Monaville Road from Old Monaville Road.

For unknown reasons, Tesch lost control of the motorcycle and left the roadway.

The motorcycle traveled through a grassy area for more than 250 feet before coming to a rest at the end of a driveway, Newton said.

Tesch was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital on Tuesday.

There was no evidence of helmet use, police said.

The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was notified and responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lake Villa Police Department and MCAT.
