Police say they arrested a man in Lake Forest who was allegedly found to have uploaded child pornography to an internet server.
Paul Salgan, 41, of the 300 block of Stablewood Lane in Lake Forest, was charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, a Class 2 felony.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information that a subject uploaded photos to an internet server, according to Lake Forest police.
The ICAC Task Force notified the Lake Forest Police Department regarding the allegations.
The photos were identified by investigators to be child pornography.
Lake Forest officers worked on the case with investigators from the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.
They were subsequently able to develop sufficient evidence and probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for Salgan, police said last week.
Court records show the crime occurred in November and a warrant was issued last month after the investigation.
Salgan was arrested on the warrant, processed at the Lake County Jail and held for a bond hearing.
A judge ordered him held on a $200,000 bond. He was released from custody after posting 10% cash.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 14.
