Alexia F. Posada-Reyes, 19, of Harvard.

Police say a woman was arrested after she allegedly committed a home invasion in Harvard because she was upset with the resident over a social media post.

The Harvard Police Department responded around 10 a.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of South Park Avenue in Harvard for a call of a disturbance inside a residence.

Alexia F. Posada-Reyes, 19, of the 600 block of North Jefferson Street in Harvard, was arrested after officers conducted an investigation.

Harvard Police Chief Tyson Bauman said it was learned that Posada-Reyes was upset over a social media post.

The woman went to the residence in the 300 block of South Park Avenue and kicked the front door open, Bauman said

Posada-Reyes entered the residence without permission to confront the resident, who made the social media post, Bauman said.

She then allegedly punched a woman in the face, injuring her, according to a criminal complaint.

Posada-Reyes was charged with one count of home invasion, a Class X felony, and transported to the McHenry County Jail.

While police were investigating the incident, they learned that a 23-year-old woman in the residence had an active arrest warrant and took her into custody as well, Bauman said.

McHenry County Judge Tiffany Davis ordered Posada-Reyes held on a $50,000 bond.

She remains held in the jail as of Wednesday and would need to post $5,000 cash in order to be released.

A hearing on a motion to reduce bond is scheduled for Friday.
