Bradley R. Johnson, 34, of Crystal Lake, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender, a Class 3 felony, and child sex offender residing near playground or daycare, a Class 4 felony.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Johnson intentionally failed to register in accordance with the Child Sex Offender Registration Act.

The complaint said that Johnson has been residing at a residence in the 1300 block of Teakwood Lane in Crystal Lake for approximately four months.

Johnson did not register with the Crystal Lake Police Department as living at the residence, which he is required to do within three days after establishing residence at a new location.

The home on Teakwood Lane is within 500 feet of a playground at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake, the complaint said.
