A driver was found unresponsive after driving off Route 41 in Highland Park and crashing into a parked trailer Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The Highland Park Fire Department and Highland Park Police Department responded around 4:20 p.m. Saturday to Route 41 and Route 22 for a vehicle crash.
Highland Park Deputy Police Chief William Bonaguidi said a vehicle was traveling northbound on Route 41 just north of Route 22.
The driver began experiencing a medical event that caused them to drive off the roadway, Bonaguidi said.
The older model Mercedes drove into a parking lot on the east side of the roadway and crashed into an unloaded black trailer.
Officers found the driver unresponsive when they arrived.
Paramedics transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment, Bonaguidi said.
The condition of the subject was not available but they did survive.
No other vehicles were struck in the incident and no one else was transported to the hospital beside the driver involved.
Bonaguidi said additional information was not available to be released due to HIPAA concerns.
