An arrest warrant has been issued for a man who allegedly met up with a child and sexually abused her in McHenry after grooming her online, court documents show.

Christopher A. Shrewsbury, 26, whose address was not available, was charged with indecent solicitation, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and grooming.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Shrewsbury used an electronic device to solicit, lure or entice a child.

Shrewsbury allegedly asked the girl to show him her naked.

The complaint said Shrewsbury asked to “touch and kiss” her “naked body parts.”

Shrewsbury sexually abused the child, who is under the age of 13, in McHenry early in the morning on June 3, the complaint said.

The McHenry Police Department investigated the case and prosecutors approved the felony charges on Friday, court records show.
