Christopher C. Greve, 79, of Lake Forest.

A registered sexual predator, who is on parole, was arrested after he allegedly approached a child walking on the sidewalk in Lake Forest and engaged her in an “intimate nature” conversation.

Christopher C. Greve, 79, of 1490 Willow Street in Lake Forest, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Lake Forest police said they were notified by a parent that Greve was standing on the sidewalk in front of his residence on Willow Street in Lake Forest on August 25.

A 15-year-old girl walked past him and Greve engaged the juvenile in conversation about high school and being on the swim team, police said.

He then reportedly began making statements and asking questions to the girl of an intimate nature.

The juvenile told her parents, who alerted the police.

Greve is a registered sexual predator, according to the Illinois State Police.

He is currently on parole and electronic monitoring after being convicted of possession of child pornography. Greve was convicted in that case in Lake County in 2005 and sentenced to three years in prison.

Police said Greve is not to have contact with anyone under the age of 18 as part of his parole conditions.

Officers interviewed Greve at his residence and he made admissions that led to his arrest, police said.

Greve was arrested, processed and released on a $125 personal recognizance bond.

Officers notified the Illinois Department of Probation and Parole of the incident.
