The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Harvard Fire Protection District responded around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to Altenburg Road and Shields Road in unincorporated Harvard.
Harvard Fire Protection District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha said crews received a call for a crash involving a school bus.
Firefighters arrived a short time later and found a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle.
Firefighters and paramedics assessed a total of 14 people, including eight from the school bus and six from the white minivan, Vucha said.
One passenger in the white minivan was transported to Mercyhealth Harvard Hospital with minor injuries.
Vucha said he did not know if the person injured was an adult or a juvenile.
No other injuries were reported. It is unclear which vehicle caused the crash.
The bus suffered very minor damage while the minivan sustained moderate front-end damage.
All students were safely transferred to a secondary school bus and were released from the scene, Vucha said.
