Two children were among four hospitalized after a car crashed into multiple other parked cars, trapping a man, at Walmart in Gurnee Saturday afternoon.
The Gurnee Police Department and Gurnee Fire Department responded around 3:30 p.m. Saturday to Walmart, 6590 Grand Avenue, for a report of a vehicle crash.
Gurnee Fire Department Battalion Chief Bob Heraver told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that a woman veered into parked vehicles.
The collision caused a car door to be crushed, trapping a 40-year-old man inside one vehicle.
Firefighters extricated the man within 10 minutes, Heraver said.
A total of three ambulances responded to the scene.
The 32-year-old woman who crashed was transported in good condition to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
The man and two children – a 6-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl – were all transported in good condition to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Three parked vehicles were damaged in the incident, Heraver said.
Fire officials did not have information on what caused the crash.
Gurnee Police Department Public Information Officer Shawn Gaylor said on Monday that the crash remains under investigation.
