Jordan V. Nelson, 21, of Rockford.

A Rockford man has been arrested for allegedly attacking several hospital employees, leaving two injured, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, police said.

Jordan V. Nelson, 21, of Rockford, was charged with three counts of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and three counts of aggravated battery.

Court records show the incident occurred on December 12 and a warrant was issued on June 3.

Libertyville Police Department Sgt. Jason Kapusinski said Nelson was at Condell Hospital receiving medical treatment.

Nelson battered several employees at the hospital while he was being treated, Kapusinski said.

Lake County Judge James Simonian said during a bond hearing that the warrant said the employees were multiple security guards and nurses.

Kapusinski said two security officers suffered minor injuries.

It was unknown whether or not they required medical treatment.

It was unclear why it took almost six months for a warrant to be issued for Nelson’s arrest.

He was taken into custody last week and appeared in bond court last Thursday.

Nelson’s bond was initially set at $250,000 when the warrant was issued. Simonian set Nelson’s bond at $100,000.

He remains held in the Lake County Jail and would need to post $10,000 cash in order to be released.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 18.
