Police are investigating multiple burglaries to businesses in Lake Villa and other towns that are believed to have been committed by the same suspects.

The Lake Villa Police Department responded around 3:30 a.m. on October 2 to the Citgo gas station, 400 East Grand Avenue in Lake Villa, for a burglar alarm.

Lake Villa Police Department Lt. James DeCaro told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that officers arrived and discovered someone had broken out the main entrance glass door.

No suspects were located within the business.

It was determined the glass had been broken to gain access to the interior of the business in an apparent burglary, DeCaro said.

Officers were called moments later to another burglar alarm at Super Pawn, 777 South Milwaukee Avenue in Lake Villa.

DeCaro said officers arrived and found that the front glass doors to both Super Pawn and Vapetricity had been broken out.

Vapetricity is located in the same commercial strip mall as Super Pawn. Both businesses had been burglarized.

Damage was sustained to all three businesses.

An undisclosed value in currency and products were taken, DeCaro said.

An evidence technician collected evidence that authorities hope to prove valuable in solving the burglaries.

The suspects involved in the burglaries were involved in additional burglaries in multiple other cities on the same day.

The vehicle involved is stolen with stolen license plates, DeCaro said. The suspects were only described as multiple black males.

Police have obtained surveillance footage from the incidents. The suspects involved have not been located yet.
