The impact caused Lipe to be thrown forward from the motorcycle.

Lipe slid underneath a trailer being pulled by a Peterbilt Semi, driven by a 59-year-old Mundelein man.

The Peterbilt was traveling in front of the Chevrolet and Lipe was run over by the wheels of the trailer.

The drivers of the Chevrolet and Peterbilt were uninjured.

Witnesses reported Lipe was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash, Covelli said.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and conducted an autopsy on Wednesday.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
