No one was injured after an outside fire caused minor damage to the Gilmer Road House restaurant near Mundelein Sunday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Countryside Fire Protection District responded around 12:15 p.m. Sunday to Gilmer Road House, 25792 North Midlothian Road in unincorporated Mundelein.

Crews received a call for a report of a structure fire.

Countryside Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Kevin Wodrich told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that a fire started near mulch and bushes.

The fire caused minor charring to the outside of the restaurant near the main entrance.

Firefighters checked to see if the fire had spread into the restaurant.

One hose line was deployed as a precaution, Wodrich said.

Smoke was found inside the restaurant but there was no fire.

No one was injured, Wodrich added. It is unknown if the establishment would be temporarily closed.
