Authorities are warning the public after multiple overdose deaths occurred last week in McHenry County.

The McHenry County Substance Abuse Coalition said they have been notified of “multiple” overdose deaths that have occurred between October 7 and October 15.

“The number of deaths was significant,” the McHenry County SAC said in a statement. They did not specify exactly how many have occurred.

The deaths have not been confirmed as opioid-related yet but the coalition said, “We are very aware that in McHenry County most overdose deaths occur because of opioids.”

“We want all community members to remain safe and ensure that you have the safe supplies and resources you need,” the coalition’s statement said.
