Justin R. Giles, 42, of McHenry.

A McHenry man was charged with stalking a woman and intentionally driving his vehicle into the woman’s house in McHenry, court records show.

Justin R. Giles, 42, of the 1400 block of West Northeast Shore Drive in McHenry, was charged with electronic harassment, criminal damage to property under $10,000, stalking and failure to notify owner of an accident.

Giles sent a text message to a woman on July 8 with a slur, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court.

Giles then sent additional messages to the woman saying that he knew where she lives and that he will “find her,” according to the complaint.

The complaint said Giles drove to the victim’s home on Mourine Lane in McHenry and attempted to make contact with her.

Giles was unable to make contact with the woman at her house and he then sent a video on Snapchat to the woman showing her that he was outside her home, the complaint said.

The complaint said Giles intentionally drove his 2016 Ford Expedition into the garage door attached to the woman’s home.

The collision caused a glass window to break on the exterior of the residence.

An arrest warrant was issued on July 10 following the incident.

Court records show Giles was arrested the day before the warrant was issued in Highland Park and was also charged with stalking in that case.

It is unclear whether the Lake County case and the McHenry County case involve the same victim.

Giles was transferred to the McHenry County Jail on Tuesday and remains held on a $20,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on November 4 for a preliminary hearing.
