Police say they found a man armed with a knife after he allegedly attacked and threatened to kill a woman, leaving her with significant injuries in Antioch.

The Antioch Police Department responded around 11:50 p.m. Saturday to the 200 block of Joanna Court in Antioch.

Officials said a call was made for a domestic disturbance where a male threatened to kill a woman.

Officers arrived to find a woman with significant injuries. Police did not say what kind of injuries the woman had.

Officers were investigating the incident and encountered the suspect, identified as Davion McCall, 46, who is a Michigan resident.

McCall was armed with a knife when officers confronted him, police said. He immediately dropped the knife and surrendered.

Officers took him into custody without further incident.

The female victim was transported to an area hospital where her condition was stabilized.

McCall was charged with aggravated domestic battery, a Class 4 felony; aggravated assault, a Class A misdemeanor; and criminal damage to property, a Class A misdemeanor.

McCall remains held in the Lake County Jail on an $80,000 bond. He would need to post $8,000 cash in order to be released.

A court hearing is next scheduled for November 3.
