A man was ejected and seriously injured during a rollover crash on Route 120 in Grayslake that left three others, including two infants, hospitalized Thursday.
The Grayslake Fire Protection District and Grayslake Police Department responded around 6:42 p.m. Thursday to the area of Route 120 and Alleghany Road for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Grayslake Deputy Police Chief Jeff Myhra said officers arrived to find a single vehicle, a silver Chevrolet Impala, involved in a crash.
The vehicle, which sustained significant damage, had rolled over into the field on the south side of Route 120 west of Alleghany Road.
A source told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that a male occupant, who had active arrest warrants for a previous fleeing to elude case, was ejected from the vehicle.
Officers found a gun at the scene after a canine unit responded, the source said.
The source said two infants and an adult female were inside the car.
Myhra said four people in total were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Myhra said the injuries appeared to be serious but everyone was expected to survive.
The Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County was called to the scene to assist the Grayslake Police Department in the investigation.
Route 120 between Alleghany Road and Hainesville Road was shut down due to the crash investigation.
The roadway was reopened approximately six hours after the crash, officials said.
