A section of Route 14 near Route 47 in Woodstock has been closed for hours after a semi-tractor-trailer truck rolled over onto its side near the busy intersection Monday morning.
The Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 9:38 a.m. Monday to the intersection of Route 14 and Route 47 in Woodstock.
Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha said a call was made for a semi-truck that rolled over and possibly left the driver trapped.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within minutes and located a semi-truck rolled over in the northwest corner of the intersection.
The male driver escaped from the truck prior to the fire department’s arrival, Vucha said.
The driver was evaluated by paramedics and refused transport to the hospital.
A minor fuel leak occurred but was quickly mitigated by firefighters, Vucha said.
The truck was hauling metal coils and no hazardous conditions were present.
All westbound lanes of Route 14 from Lake Avenue to Route 47 remained closed as of 12:45 p.m. Monday.
Tow trucks are working to upright the truck and trailer and clear the intersection. It is unknown when that will be completed.
The Woodstock Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
