Police are actively investigating after a house in Crystal Lake was struck by numerous rounds of gunfire Saturday evening during a targeted shooting.

The Crystal Lake Police Department began receiving multiple 911 calls for shots fired around 7:34 p.m. Saturday.

The callers reported hearing gunshots in the 800 block of Coventry Lane, according to Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Richard Neumann.

Officers arrived and confirmed a residence in the 800 block of Coventry Lane had been struck by multiple rounds of gunfire.

No one was injured and it appears that the shots were intentionally directed toward the residence, Neumann said.

No suspects are in custody. Police did not say whether anyone was inside the home when the incident occurred.

Residents in the area reported that officers were canvassing the area and asking residents for surveillance video to assist in the investigation.

The Crystal Lake Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and all leads received, Neumann said.
