The family of a 15-year-old girl says that the teen has been located safe after she was reported missing Sunday afternoon in Waukegan.
Emily Arizmendi, 15, of Waukegan, was last seen around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
The girl’s mother, Naomi Estrada, said her daughter was last seen near the Field House Sports Center, 800 Baldwin Avenue in Waukegan.
Waukegan Deputy Police Chief Joe Florip confirmed to Lake and McHenry County Scanner that police were searching for the girl.
The police department classified the case as a missing runaway, Florip said.
Estrada told Lake and McHenry County Scanner on Thursday that her daughter had been located Wednesday.
No additional details were available regarding her disappearance.
