Police officers responding to a well-being check found five people dead inside a house in Buffalo Grove Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department responded around 11:12 a.m. Wednesday to the 2800 block of Acacia Terrace in Buffalo Grove.

Police officials said officers received a call to check on the well-being of an adult female.

Officers arrived and were unable to make contact with anyone inside the home.

Officers forced entry and a sweep of the home was conducted.

The officers found five deceased people inside, police officials said.

A preliminary investigation indicates this was a “domestic-related incident” and there is believed to be no threat to the public.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force was requested to the scene and is assisting in the ongoing investigation.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending autopsies by the coroner’s office and notification to the next of kin.
