A Richmond man was taken into custody after he allegedly was found in possession of child pornography material, including images and a video, court documents show.
Phillip L. Giannini, 75, of the 3900 block of East Keith Drive in Richmond, was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a Class 2 felony.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Giannini possessed nine images of child pornography.
The complaint said Giannini also possessed one video of child pornography.
All of the material depicted children under the age of 13 engaged in sexual conduct, the complaint said.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case and obtained an arrest warrant for Giannini last Wednesday, court records show.
A judge set bond on the warrant at $75,000. Giannini has since been taken into the custody of the McHenry County Jail.
Giannini was released from the jail after posting $7,500 cash, records show.
The charges against Giannini are Class 2 felonies, which is punishable by 3-7 years in prison if convicted.
A status of preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 7.
