The man who was wanted for allegedly escaping police after a pursuit that began in Spring Grove and ended in Waukegan last weekend has been arrested in Park City, authorities said.
Brandon Vice, 35, of the 0-100 block of East Grand Avenue in Fox Lake, was arrested by the Park City Police Department on Friday.
Police received an anonymous tip of a stolen tan-colored Ford pickup truck, Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Lillian Lewis said.
Officers located the truck and obtained surveillance video of Vice allegedly exiting the truck and entering an apartment.
The truck had its ignition tampered with, Lewis said.
Vice was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
He was also identified as the suspect in the police pursuit that started in Spring Grove and ended in Waukegan last weekend.
Vice fled on foot after the Ford he was driving was rendered inoperable, Spring Grove Police Chief Michael Niedzwiecki said.
He was charged in that incident with aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle and driving while license revoked.
Vice was also wanted by the Round Lake Park Police Department for an aggravated fleeing police incident in October, court records show.
Prosecutors asked the court to set Vice’s bond at $250,000, but Lake County Judge Michael Betar set bond at $25,000.
He would need to post $2,500, or 10%, to be released.
Vice remains held in the Lake County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 21 for a preliminary hearing.
